The Arc Animal Sanctuary and The Cat Sanctuary are two such groups; operatng without any formal funding.
Surviving on donations, stray and street cats are cared for, some are rescued and taken to shelters others , fed, sterilised and provided vet care when sick or injured and homed as often as possible.
